Today’s Resolution: Leave Your Cell Phone At Home

Leave Your Cell Phone At Home

This is crazy! You won’t be able to function without your cell phone!

But honestly, do you need your phone with you today? In the not so distant past, no one carried a cellphone. The business of the world was carried out each day and everything ran smoothly. Today, people are obsessed with their phones. They can’t go 5 minutes without checking to see if they got a new text message or email.

Try your best to ditch the mobile appendage today. If you must carry one, leave it in the car.

Today’s Resolution: Stay Off Facebook

Stay Off The Facebook

Do you spend too much time on Facebook? Considering the completely counter-productive nature of the website, “too much” is a pretty easy flag to obtain. I used to be guilty of this too some days, especially during long waits (that’s why I deleted the app from my phone.)

Today, don’t even think about logging into Facebook.

Don’t worry, the world won’t end. All of your messages and friends’ status updates will be there in the morning. Spend this extra time with your real-life friends, family and children instead!

Today’s Resolution: Strike Up a Conversation with a Stranger

Do the opposite of what your mother told you never to do. Talk to a stranger today! You may be surprised to find out how much you have in common with your new friend.

Today’s Resolution: Pay it Forward

pay it forward

We took a trip to the dog park with Napa (the dog) last week, where a guy told us about this time he honeymooned in Napa (the town). After feasting on $250 worth of food and wine and asking for the bill, the waiter told him and his wife that another couple had put the bill on their tab. When the guy asked for the couple’s address or information, the waiter said, “they said you’d ask, and they told me to tell you to do the same for someone else sometime.” You can’t make this stuff up. Or maybe he did, but we really liked the story and thought that it’d make a great resolution.

No need to make any grand gestures if you’re broke, but paying for the guy behind you in the coffee line would be a great start!

Today’s Resolution: Pick Up After Someone Else

Pick Up After Someone Else

How often do you go somewhere, a park, a dog park, or even a parking lot where people have left their trash behind? Today’s resolution to pick all that stuff up, because if you don’t, who will?
